After a strong, successful season, Brazoswood’s boys varsity soccer team was able to make it to playoffs after winning the district championship game against Clear Creek.
“My mindset during games is to play with everything I have, and to have a little fun too,” sophomore Jeremy Ramirez said. “I am absolutely blessed and excited to be in the playoffs.”
As the first round of playoffs approached, boys soccer prepared through rigorous practice and focus, strengthening their bonds along the way to create a strong team spirit.
“The team has been training hard for this game and we don’t stop the grind, so I was confident we would win district championships,” senior Anothony Perkins said. “I was very emotional because this is our first time making it to the playoffs as a family, we are making history.”
One of the crucial parts within a successful team is having a good bond with each other, as communication among teammates during a game can make or break success.
“Having good chemistry with the team is a crucial part of being able to know when your teammate is going to be there to pass the ball to,” sophomore Gavin Jasso said “I knew my teammate was going to be there to help me get the ball back.”
While having a strong connection with each other while playing is crucial, being able to stay calm and focus during a game greatly helps.
“I played the game with a calm and composed mindset, treating it like any other game to make sure I did not let the other team score,” senior Kevin Talamantes said.
This journey has been filled with unforgettable moments, thrilling victories, hard-fought battles, and incredible displays of sportsmanship. As another round of playoffs approaches, the team prepares to put forward their best performance.
