After a season of many difficulties, such as losing a teacher and struggling to schedule competitions, the hard work from all students within the German Folk Dancing Club has paid off. During their state competition, the team won, becoming state champions.
“We really only compete at the festivals we go to, but that’s still fun,” junior Tyler Strawn said. “It’s always fun to perform with that group of people.”
After the successes that students have made within the club, some have grown a fondness for the club that they can imagine taking with them.
“I am part of a professional German Folk Dance troupe, and I plan to dance in college,” senior Georgy Krasovskiy said. “It’s one of my passions.”
Despite the struggles that the team has experienced throughout the year, their hard work and dedication to the German Folk Dancing Club has paid off.
“I felt really nervous before and while dancing, but as he called the awards I felt really happy, it’s great that we finally won state after all these years, my senior year,” senior Georgy Krasovskiy said.
