After a long season of hard work and dedication throughout the 2025 season, the Brazoswood girls JV Blue soccer team became 24-6A district champions
“It felt really good to win because we worked really hard as a team and it took a lot for us to get there but I would say at our first game I knew we were going to win district,” freshman Olivia Lewis said.
Throughout each game, players depended greatly on each other, not only to keep the game moving in their favor, but to keep each other determined and motivated during hardships, as well as receiving communication for each move that they make.
“I think the key to our success this season was our communication and just being able to talk on the field, our bonds are so close that we play well together,” Lewis said.
During their season, one of the team’s greatest motivators was not only each other, but fellow peers and fans, encouraging them to do their best during every game.
“I think it’s really great, like the whole entire school and our community supporting us,” Lewis said. “We support each other really well and we do a lot for the community, and it comes back on us and shows when they’re out in the stands watching us.”
Overall, the team’s hard work and dedication throughout the entire season greatly paid off with their success, while also preparing them for what will come with another season.
“I feel like we worked really hard for the win and worked together as a team, and in moments where we thought we were going to lose we pushed through it and came out on top,” freshman Talyne Gibbons said. “Next season, to keep the momentum from this last season up, we just need to continue to work together, stay positive, and keep getting stronger as a team to keep succeeding.”
