AFJROTC participated in their first competition in several years, bringing home second place.

A ter years of not participating in competitions, the AFJROTC students just won 2nd place in their first drill competition on Saturday April, 13th at Klein Forest High School.
“I felt very confident. I liked the outcome we had. Overall I felt good because we made 2nd place out of 20 schools,” Aiden Joy said.
For them to have had this much of an amazing outcome they have been working really hard and preparing with practices multiple times each week in an effort to perfect their performances and details for inspections that are involved in the competition.
Practices are very intense and bold and members of AFJROTC have to remain energetic, enthusiastic and determined to make sure they are performing at their best. Just the same as any sport, AFJROTC has to put in good, solid, hard work to succeed.
“I’ve been preparing for this competition by practicing every day for like two hours a day and it was very exhausting but we worked hard and pulled through,” Taelynn Vargas said.
After all the hard work that the members of AFJROTC and even the Sergeant, C.Sims, put into this competition, it all absolutely paid off once they were actually able to compete.
Since competing recently and receiving their first trophy for their first competition, the AFJROTC members can be seen as a representation of how the program can pay off. By bringing home the second place trophy, their hard work and dedication can be viewed by all current and future AFJROTC students.
The current AFJROTC members and the Sergeant all have valid reasons to be very proud of the hard earned award they have received and have the opportunity to share. This is definitely an absolute and clear-cut way to honor and represent the school and its endeavors.
“I’m excited about the win because it shows that their hard work and the effort that they put into it really helped them prepare and be confident enough to compete in this drill meet,” Sergeant C. Sims said. “The results speak for themselves. After four years of not being able to compete they were finally able to compete and place.”
Continuing to allow our AFJROTC members to increase their morale, courage and tenacity, they will be able to continue to move up in their ranks and reassure the incoming members that this is a positive and promising program that can not only assist in a successful high school career but also assist in creating an immensely considerable career after high school as well.
Although not all students will be here next year, the members who will be graduating all still hope that the generations to follow will continue with the competitions and continue winning more trophies.
This will also allow for more growth in the schools AFJROTC program in an effort to not only increase the representation of highly spirited and fearless students but to allow the entirety of the team to move forward in each one’s own way and as a group. This will teach the AFJROTC members different ways to continuously succeed and remain undoubtedly confident in their skills for the competitions in the years to come.
“I was proud and satisfied with the cadets and myself for winning and I hope that competition keeps going after I take off and I hope upcoming leaders keep it going,” Mia Ramos said.
